The Japanese legend of Urashima Taro, a young fisherman who saves a turtle and visits the Dragon Palace beneath the sea.

A few days later, Taro was fishing from his boat when he heard a voice calling, "Taro, Taro." Looking around, he saw a large turtle beside the boat. "I am the mother of the turtle you saved. To thank you, I will take you to the palace of the Dragon King. Please climb onto my back," she said.

Surprised, Taro replied, "You’ll take me to a palace? Then let’s go, but I can’t stay away for long." He climbed onto the turtle’s back, and she dived deeper and deeper. After they had descended through the sea for some time, a great palace appeared before them.
